Program Operations

Activation

  1. Cashier swipes card through reader.
  2. Enters the purchase amount.
  3. System generates a two part receipt (one for merchant and one for customer).

Redemption

  1. Card is swiped and purchase amount is entered.
  2. If necessary, card balance can be obtained via a touch-tone phone, customer support or through the merchant's POS terminal.
  3. The host system verifies that the card is valid and has been activated.
  4. If the purchase amount exceeds the cards balance:  The System will determine the balance due from the customer, who has the option of adding additional value to the card or having it deactivated.
  5. If the card balance exceeds the purchase amount:  System decrements the card balance and generates a two part receipt showing the new balance.
  6. Details of all transactions are maintained at the host level.
